About

Engineering, from first principles

I'm a Mechanical Engineering undergraduate at IIT Delhi who enjoys understanding how things work.

Whether it's a physical system, a design problem, or a computational model, I'm interested in the process of breaking down complexity, understanding the underlying principles, and building solutions that work in practice.

I enjoy exploring ideas across disciplines and learning by building, testing, and questioning assumptions. For me, engineering is less about finding answers and more about understanding why those answers make sense.

Understand first. Build second.

Problems I've spent real time on — a race car's battery pack, a drone that lands itself, a chimney that runs quieter.

EV Battery Pack & Enclosure

I was Senior Engineer on Axlr8r Formula Racing's battery team, leading a group of 60+ people through the full build of our EV pack — from cell characterization and cycle testing, to designing a 2,150-part battery enclosure on SolidWorks, to wire-bonding busbars and building a custom BMS. We manufactured and integrated the finished 400V, 7.8kWh pack, 17% lighter than the year before, and coordinated our 3D-printing sponsorships along the way. It all came together at Formula Bharat 2025, where we placed 5th in the EV category.

Battery Digital Twin

A Python model that tracks how a cell degrades, charges, and heats up over time, checked against PyBaMM. Used it with ANSYS Fluent to rework the pack's cooling and cut power draw by 38%.

Self-Driving Perception & Control

CNNs for lane and sign detection, plus EKF and MPC for trajectory tracking. Also ran a behavioral-cloning model over 10,000+ driving frames to see how well it could predict steering from video alone.

Silent Chimney & Hybrid Cooktop

Interned at Isler Infra redesigning kitchen chimneys for noise. Tested acoustic fixes that cut noise by 5–9dB, then designed and built a hybrid cooktop prototype from scratch.

CO2 Refrigeration & Thermal Storage

Simulating a transcritical CO2 supermarket refrigeration system paired with ice-water thermal storage. Sizing the heat exchangers and running real load profiles to shave peak demand.

Autonomous UAV Landing

Trained DQN and PPO agents to land a drone under gravity and fuel constraints, then benchmarked them against classical controllers across 20 test environments.

Acoustic Metamaterial Design

Trained ML models on 10,000+ COMSOL simulations to predict how unit-cell geometry affects sound transmission loss — accurate to within 0.33dB, and fast enough to run in reverse for design.
